June, 2010 Dear Rabbi Gellman, Today’s article in Newsday about clergy services brings up a story I want to tell you.  (I faithfully read your articles and truly enjoy the insight you bring into them. I love you humor!) My husband’s family is what we call Reformed Jewish family. He grew up in Forest Hills. His [...]

Haaste

Haastan [...]

WONDERS

Have you been to the Alps? Have you been to Gornegrad, over 10 000 ft high, facing the beautiful Matterhorn? Last October the weather was lovely, minus 11 C, clear, the breeze fresh. NATALYA

Someone strokes my hand, softly. Someone speaks to me, softly.   Before: I don’t like soft. I don’t like sweet. I don’t want pity. I am a queen of pity parties without help.   Later: We spend hours, days, yes, months in the treatment room in her office. On the leather chair I watch [...]

ART

We both love art.  You paint like Rembrandt, Bigger pictures, Within the lines. Full of people and their stories You save lives.                                                   I paint too,                                                   Bigger brushes                                                   I paint like Pollock,                                                   No lines, no stories                                                   I splash a lot. We both love art, Yet We are worlds apart.

10 hullua
